KARACHI: Athletes will compete in 28 disciplines in the 4th Inter-Provincial Games which are expected to be held at Peshawar from March 16-21.
Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) said on Wednesday, while giving details of its sports commission meeting held at Lahore on Tuesday, that it was decided that the 4th Inter-Provincial Games may be held from March 16-21 at Peshawar in collaboration with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
The disciplines are athletics (men, women), badminton (men, women), baseball (men), basketball (men), boxing (men), bodybuilding (men), golf (men), gymnastics (men), handball (men), hockey (men), Ju-Jitsu (men), kabaddi (men), karate (men, women), rowing (men, women), rugby (men), shooting (men), softball (women), squash (men, women), swimming (men, women), table tennis (men, women), taekwondo (men, women), tennis (men, women), tug-of-war (men, women), volleyball (men, women), weight-lifting (men, women), wrestling (men, women), wushu (men, women).
The POA said that cycling (men and women), football (men) and judo (men and women) would be included subject to the approval of the NOC in compliance with the decisions of the POA general council held on October 16, 2017.
“It was decided that venue inspection committee of POA will visit Quetta in the second week of February so that the necessary decisions may be taken in the next meeting of POA General Council likely to be held in March at Quetta,” the POA added.
