KARACHI: Minhaaj Maqsood from RGC won the junior professional golf championship hosted by the newly-elected officials of the Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) in Rawalpindi.
Junior professionals from all over Pakistan featured in the championship that was played over 54 holes. Minhaaj had a three-day aggregate of 224, winning the title ahead of Zeeshan Khan and Amir Khan.
In a welcome move, the PGF invited Shabbir Iqbal, Pakistan’s No.1 professional, as the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony of the event. After giving away the prizes, Shabbir hailed PGF’s move to hold the championship for younger professionals and also thanked the PGF for inviting him as the chief guest for the first time.
